Tim Perrine (b. 1977)

Tim Perrine has been writing and performing music for nearly 25 years. At the age of 5 he began playing piano. At 10 he started his study of percussion and began writing his first compositions. Throughout his teen and early twenties Tim performed with various bands, studying classical composition at the same time. He has written songs for rock bands and solo artists and has composed countless commissioned works for concert and chamber ensembles.

During his undergraduate and graduate studies at Michigan State University and Butler University, Tim worked with professional and student directors on a number of theater productions by playwrights such as Beckett, Brecht, Goldsmith, and Aristophanes- writing underscore and original songs. He began on his journey into the world of film music at this time, writing music for student films and studying film music.  

In 2005 Tim attended the Scoring for Motion Pictures and Television program at the University of Southern California. While there Tim studied with Christopher Young and orchestrator Pete Anthony. He interned with composers Michael Giacchino and Chris Lennertz.

Since graduating from USC in 2006, Tim has worked with composers Elia Cmiral, Marco Beltrami, Jeff Atmajian, David Carbonara, Tim Jones, Jeremy Zuckerman, Nathaniel Blume, Daniel Chan, and Blake Neely. He has worked as an orchestrator and a copyist on motion pictures such as Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, The Hills Have Eyes 2, 1408, The Reaping, and the video game Warhawk. He has done music preparation and orchestration on the Golden Globe winning television series Mad Men and has written additional music for the film Live Free or Die Hard. He has written music for television series Chuck, Human Target, and currently writes music for The Flash, Supergirl, Arrow, and DC's Legends of Tomorrow.
